Dress Code
The dress code of nursing students reflects professionalism, discipline, and the ethical values of the nursing profession. Students of NPR College of Nursing & Research Institute are expected to maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times while representing the institution in the campus, hospital, and community settings.
College Uniform
All nursing students must wear the prescribed college uniform during class hours, clinical postings, and official academic activities.
- Prescribed uniform (formal shirt (Pink) and pant (Black) as approved by TNNMC Council and institution)
- White apron with college emblem
- Black formal shoes with socks
- ID card must be worn at all times
- Prescribed nursing uniform (salwar kameez (pink) / clinical uniform as approved by the institution)
- White apron with college emblem
- Black or white formal shoes with white socks
- ID card must be worn at all times
Clinical Posting Uniform
During hospital clinical postings, students must strictly follow clinical dress regulations:
- Clean and neatly ironed clinical uniform
- White apron with name badge
- Minimal accessories
- Short, clean nails without nail polish
- Hair neatly tied (for female students)
Personal Grooming
Students must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
- Hair should be neatly maintained; long hair must be properly tied.
- Excessive makeup is not permitted.
- Jewelry should be minimal (small stud earrings only).
- Strong perfumes are discouraged in clinical areas.
Identity Card
All students must wear their College Identity Card visibly while inside the campus, hospital, and during academic activities.
General Guidelines
- Uniform must always be clean, neat, and well maintained.
- Students should avoid casual clothing while attending academic or clinical duties.
- Any violation of the uniform policy will be subject to disciplinary action as per institutional rules.
Professional Appearance
The nursing uniform symbolizes trust, responsibility, and respect in patient care. Students are expected to uphold the dignity of the nursing profession by maintaining proper attire and professional conduct at all times.
